Delft has a rich history and a number of beautiful monumental buildings. Located at the Market since the 80s, in the ‘Boterhuys’ (1765), you’ll find the interior shop and design bureau Van Waay & Soetekouw (founded in 1935) and they don’t lack any ambition. “We want to be the most beautiful and nicest interior design shop” says Gert Batenburg, owner of interior shop and design bureau Van Waay & Soetekouw.
With a small team of interior architects and stylists, we have access to all tastes of interiors
Beautiful it certainly is; tasteful rooms designed as real living areas that are regularly updated. From the entrance downstairs, two further floors, up to the attic, the most beautiful furniture is carefully laid out. Any design lover’s heart will beat faster, although anyone who’s looking for a nice home or office setting is inspired by the creative concepts at Van Waay & Soetekouw. You will find timeless design classics, as well as the latest items from leading brands. Don’t be put off, “we’re an accessible shop, in spite of the beautiful stately building, visitors feel at home, and are just as welcome to look for a beautiful vase or lamp.”
In addition to the shop and design bureau there’s a 24/7 webshop. Recently, Van Waay & Soetekouw even offers an online interior advisory 3-step plan. By following an online style check, you can indicate style or decoration preferences and wishes and those are the first steps. “With a small team of interior architects and stylists, we have access to all tastes of interiors, for both home and office,” explains Gert. With the combination shop, design bureau and webshop Van Waay & Soetekouw is ready to realise that ‘at home’ feeling. “It may be a complete renovation, but finding the right lamp above a table is also an enjoyable challenge for us!”
